Russian propagandists continue to lie about the war in Ukraine. Now they started talking about how “the Armed Forces of Ukraine beat up residential buildings in Mariupol during the exit from the city.”

This absurd statement was made by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. However, this is another lie that propagandists are actively spreading. This is not the first time they have accused Ukrainians of what they are doing themselves.

Why the words of the Russians are fake

The Center for Strategic Communications and Security refutes fake Russian propaganda about Mariupol.

• Ukraine takes care of its cities and people, and does not destroy them. It was the Russian military who wiped Mariupol off the face of the earth and fired at residential buildings, despite the fact that there were peaceful Ukrainians there.

• With lies about “Nazis” from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, propagandists are trying to demonize Ukrainians and justify their invasion. The Russians substitute the concept, calling the occupation “dismissal”.
• The whole world almost saw live how the Russians shelled Mariupol and destroyed residential buildings, a drama theater, a maternity hospital, and Azovstal.
• The special cynicism of Khusnullin's false statement is that it was made a few days after the anniversary of the strike on the drama theater, which killed hundreds of Mariupol civilians.

What is known about Putin's “visit” to Mariupol

• Russian propagandists report that dictator Vladimir Putin has arrived in Mariupol. However, the videos of his “visit” look somewhat strange.
• In the published footage, a man who is being passed off as Putin is seen driving a car. One is to make sure whether it is really – unreal, like the picture outside the car window. In addition, the shooting is carried out at night.
