Russian occupiers continue to shell the Sumy region. In particular, on May 14, enemy missiles destroyed the bridge across the Kleven River.
The invaders are afraid of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Dmitry Zhivitsky, the head of the Sumy OVA, spoke about this on the air of the national telethon, channel 24 reports. On May 14, infidels fired rockets at the premises of one of the agricultural enterprises in the Sumy region. There were hangars for agricultural machinery.
“We understand that they beat them without knowing where. Perhaps they had some wrong information. The destruction and shelling of the private sector, residential buildings are constantly taking place. Now a rocket has already arrived at an agricultural enterprise,” the head of the OVA said.< /p>
In addition, the invaders fired 2 more rockets that hit the bridge across the Kleven River in the Shostka region. Enemy shelling completely destroyed the crossing.
This bridge just leads towards Russia. And it is obvious that they are afraid that there may be an offensive from the territory of Ukraine already to Russia, because they are strengthening their positions, actively digging in, bypassing the territory from their side and building strongholds. – said Zhivitsky.
He added that the infidels are doing serious defensive work, that is, they do not form any offensive groups, but cleanly dig in and take up defensive positions.
Sumy region residents are returning home
Zhivitsky noted that enemy shelling used to happen 1-2 times a day. The invaders fired only a few mortars. However, now the shelling is increasing daily. In addition, the enemies use heavier weapons.
“Recently, air raids, bombardments, shelling with air-to-ground missiles have begun again. Such sorties, raids, shelling are becoming more frequent, and the weapons used by the rashists are becoming it's getting harder,” the head of the OVA noted.
At the same time, residents of the Sumy region, forced to leave their homes and leave, fleeing the war, are returning home. However, not as actively as in the first days of the liberation of the region from the infidels.
“The first 1 – 2 weeks after the liberation of the territory of the Sumy region, more people returned. I think that somewhere out of 300 thousand who left from the territory of the Sumy region, both organized humanitarian corridors and independently, returned 2-thirds for sure. That is, somewhere around 200 thousand people,” Zhyvitsky said.
He called on all residents of the region who have jobs and can work, come back and definitely do it.
