Thiem uses forced break for cooking class with brother

Dominic and Moritz Thiem at the cooking class.

Dominic and Moritz Thiem swap the tennis racket for the wooden spoon. The two are doing a “long overdue cooking class”.

The compulsory break also has its good sides for Dominic Thiem. The Lichtenwörther is out for the rest of the year due to a complicated wrist injury.

The 28-year-old is forced to watch the US Open as the defending champion on television. Thiem, however, does not sit idly in front of the TV set and quarrels. As he recently revealed, he uses his newly gained free time to read, to keep his “mind not wither”. Favorite topic: animal and environmental protection, climate change and its consequences. Thiem is committed to a greener future, expanding his horizons through books and discussions with experts.

During a visit to Salzburg, he expanded his repertoire to include additional skills. The tennis star is taking a cooking class. Thiem shares the snapshots on Instagram (see above). Dominic and his brother Moritz, also tennis players, can be seen preparing pasta.

The cooking class with Tommy Eder-Dananic, the chef at Hangar-7 from sponsor Red Bull, is clearly a lot of fun for both of them. And: It was “long overdue”, as Thiem put it. Friend Lili Paul-Roncalli will also be happy about that …
