Hervis is celebrating its 50th birthday with a new shop concept. In future there will be a service point and a clear division into “sports worlds”.
The first Hervis branch opened in Innsbruck on September 24, 1970. There are now 106 across Austria. Just in time for the 50s, the sporty Spar subsidiary is now buying a new shop concept that is gradually being implemented.
According to boss Werner Weber, customers can look forward to a clear separation into “sports worlds”. Example: In the subject area “running” you can find everything from heart rate monitors to shoes and functional corpses. In addition, there are “tangible assembly corners”. Here you can watch employees adjust gears and brakes, for example.
Another new feature is a central information point, clearly recognizable by a large, red tower, in which online orders are also made available for collection.
Weber keeps a low profile on total sales in the crisis year. Just this much: The demand for fitness equipment, trampolines, table tennis tables, outdoor equipment and bikes has exploded, and online business has doubled.
