After the first week of Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine, everyone understood that there would be no blitzkrieg. At the same time, it became clear that the president of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, lost everything.
This opinion was expressed by historian and political scientist Andrei Zubov on Channel 24. According to him, Putin did not expect such civil and military resistance from Ukrainians.
The most tragic mistake
As Zubov emphasized, it is obvious that it is impossible to conquer such a large state in terms of territory and population as Ukraine. Especially if it is patriotic, wants to preserve freedom and is in alliance with the entire civilized world.
“He hoped that the people want his power in Ukraine, but he was wrong. Perhaps this is Putin's most tragic mistake in 22 year of his reign,” Zubov said.
