Three goals and yet hardly any cheers at the match winner for Real Madrid

Marco Asensio was the man of the day at Real Madrid. The 25-year-old scored three times in a 6-1 win against Mallorca. Karim Benzema contributed two hits, with Isco the final point. David Alaba played through in central defense for Los Blancos.

But three-time goalscorer Asensio could not be celebrated. The offensive player was born in Palma on Mallorca and played on the island for many years. Out of respect for his former club, he refrained from making grand gestures on Wednesday evening at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Sevilla FC remain unbeaten in the Spanish championship. Salzburg's Champions League opponents recorded a 3-1 win in the sixth round against Valencia and thus their third win in the fifth game of the season.

Alejandro Gomez (3rd), an own goal by Toni Lato (15th) and Rafa Mir (22nd) made things clear right from the start. Valencia scored through Hugo Duro (31st) and lost for the second time in a row.
