Three oblenergos fined for violating blackout schedules

In Ukraine, several oblenergos have been checked for compliance with power outage schedules. As a result, violators were found.

The activities of the companies were checked during November-December 2022. All because of the numerous appeals of consumers to the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities.

Who violated the schedules

  • “Vinnytsiaoblenergo”,
  • “Chernivtsioblenergo”,
  • “Volynyoblenergo”.

The regulator established that these DSOs distributed consumer participation in shutdown schedules unevenly, not respecting the principle of social justice. In addition, they did not inform people about power outages, in particular through their own websites.

Oblenergos were fined

Three 85 thousand hryvnia. In the future, they were obliged to comply with fair shutdown schedules, as well as the requirements for properly informing consumers about power outages.

The heads of the mentioned regional energy companies were also fined separately. They have to pay 1,700 hryvnia each.

Power outages may become longer

  • As a result of the last massive attack on January 14, there were generation facilities and some substations were damaged, causing additional difficulties for the Ukrainian energy system.
  • Consequently, the authorities warned that the duration of power outages could increase.
