Toyota stops factories in the UK and France

The Japanese automaker Toyota Motor, in connection with the identification of a new mutation of the coronavirus in the UK, has decided to temporarily suspend the work of two of its factories in the United Kingdom and one in France, NHK reports.

According to him, the workers of these enterprises had to be sent ahead of schedule for Christmas holidays, mainly due to transport problems that arose after European countries, one after another, began to close their borders from Britain. This seriously complicates the shipping of finished products and the delivery of parts.

We will remind, as the website wrote, last week it became known that a new type of COVID-19 was discovered in England, which turned out to be even more infectious. In this regard, many countries, including Russia, have suspended air and rail links with the kingdom.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) urged not to panic over the new “British” mutation of the coronavirus. The organization noted that experts have not yet identified “any change in the lethality of the virus.”
