Turkey condemns attack on French priest

Turkey's Foreign Ministry said the country condemned the attack on a priest in France. RIA Novosti reports.

“As a country that has fought all kinds of terrorism for many years, we once again declare our solidarity with the French people and the Orthodox community of France,” the ministry stressed and wished the injured priest to recover as soon as possible.

An attack near a Greek church in Lyon occurred on October 31, when a priest was closing the church. The attacker shot him twice with a hunting rifle and then fled.

As a result, the priest was seriously injured. The man who shot him was taken into custody.
