Ukraine moves to NATO standards: what will change in the conduct of the war
Ukraine is moving to NATO standards for warfare. This, first of all, concerns logistics issues, and this is one of the main criteria for victory.
This opinion Channel 24 was voiced by Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military expert Sergei Grabsky. In fact, NATO practices are not always relevant for Ukraine.
Ukraine is moving away from linear logistics
Grabsky said that Ukraine has not yet radically changed its approach to military logistics, but is already moving away from the linear logistics inherent in the USSR and Russia. It consists in the fact that the unit must carry the entire range of resources and be supplied exclusively by military supply lines.
Gradually, albeit, unfortunately, very slowly, our logistics are moving to NATO protocols. We may use local resources where the situation allows. We have a more intellectual approach to the issues of providing and repairing equipment and weapons, – said the colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He added that we still have a lot of work ahead of us. But life and Western technology make us move to new logistics standards. In particular, in the West they say that it is logistics and the economy that will win the war. True, the Soviet inertia and way of thinking still remain with us, and this hinders us.
Grabsky on what will change in the conduct of the war: watch the video the Armed Forces of Ukraine have experience in conducting successful operations in this war. This is Kharkiv region, Kherson region. These operations showed how to fight with a limited resource. This is, so to speak, a non-contact and asymmetric war.
“We will not achieve technical parity with the enemy. It is physically impossible, given the resource base on which we rely. However, we can use other algorithms for conducting combat operations and use other means of destruction,” Grabsky said.
How he noted that we should use the Soviet methods of the Russian army. For this we need a long-range weapon. Thus, we will be able to hit the second and third lines of the enemy. From afar, hit their places of accumulation of manpower and equipment.
