Ukraine to receive HIMARS munitions and HARM missiles: details of new US 725 million package

The United States has provided Ukraine with a new $725 million military aid package. The money should go to critical security and defense needs.

The new package includes both additional ammunition for artillery and new missiles, as well as off-road vehicles and medical supplies. The Pentagon stressed that the new aid came after the last meeting in Ramstein.

What aid for Ukraine does the new 725 million package contain

  • Supplemental Munitions for Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS)
  • 23,000 155mm artillery shells
  • 500 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds
  • 5,000 155mm artillery shells remote anti-tank mining (RAAM) shots
  • 5,000 anti-tank guns
  • High-speed anti-radar missiles (HARM)
  • More than 200 high-mobility multipurpose wheeled off-road vehicles (HMMWV)
  • Small arms
  • More 2 million rounds of small arms ammunition
  • Medicines

The Pentagon stressed that this is an unprecedented security assistance for Ukraine. At the same time, the US will continue to work with allies and partners to provide Ukraine with the support it needs

Note! This is the 23rd such aid provided by the United States to Ukraine since August 2021. Overall, since January 2021, Washington has provided more than $18.2 billion in security assistance to Kyiv. In particular, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has received 17.6 billion in military support.

What else has Ukraine received lately

Before the meeting in Ramstein, additional HIMARS systems arrived in Ukraine.

In addition, Germany handed over the IRIS-T air defense system – it is already protecting the Ukrainian sky in the southern direction. There should also be NASAMS from the United States soon.

Following the results of Rammstein, it became known that Spain will transfer 4 Hawk air defense systems to Ukraine, and NATO – means to jam drones.
