According to Italian media, Ukrainian soldiers in Italy have already been trained on SAMP / T air defense systems. They were passed by 20 Ukrainian servicemen.

According to the media. the exercises took place at the training ground in Sabaudia. The Italian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the training has already been completed.

How did you get trained

Media reports that 20 Ukrainian soldiers arrived in Rome, and from there they were sent on a special flight to Sabaudia. There they were placed in the barracks. The Italian military stationed at these bases was forbidden to contact the guests.

Other soldiers from Ukraine, according to the Italian Ministry of Defense, were at the Cesano infantry school in Rome and were trained in armored vehicles.

After leaking information about the Ukrainian military in Sabaudia, the Italian Ministry of Defense confirmed this information, but stated that the exercises were completed. At the same time, information regarding the next stages of training in Rome is not disclosed.

SAMP / T: briefly about the air defense system

SAMP/T is a joint Italian-French technology. This air defense system is capable of hitting enemy aircraft at a distance of up to 100 km. In addition, it is capable of shooting down ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 35 kilometers. This air defense system hits targets at an altitude of up to 20 km.

This system costs 700 million euros and is equipped with Aster missiles worth between 400,000 and 2 million euros each. Italy only has 5 SAMP/Ts, of which one is already deployed in Slovakia to protect NATO's eastern flank.
