Trust in the Security Service of Ukraine has more than doubled during the year of the war. In particular, because of the constant effective special operations and systemic punishment of traitors.

Political scientist Taras Zagorodniy writes about this, based on sociological surveys of Ukrainians.

The level of confidence in the SBU is growing rapidly: the expert explained the reason

Analyzing the sociological survey of the Razumkov Center, the expert notes that among the military and law enforcement agencies, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine are most trusted.

The level of confidence in the SBU is 74%. And this is against the background of the fact that before the war the level of support for the Service was only 29%. Such a jump in the level of trust in the SBU indicates that Ukrainians want punishment for traitors and support those who effectively carry out this punishment,” writes Zahorodniy.

According to the political scientist, the service has increased significantly after the arrival of Vasily Malyuk to the post of head.

The SBU carried out a number of high-profile special operations – the daily delay of Russian agents, saboteurs and gunners; a number of successful “cotton operations” in the territory occupied by Russia (undermining the Crimean bridge and attacking drones on ships in the Sevastopol Bay, liquidating traitors in the occupied territories; defeating the Moscow church underground), liquidating collaborators in the temporarily occupied territories, emphasizes Zagorodny.

The expert draws parallels between the work of the SBU and the Israeli Mossad.

It is in Israel that, after successful operations, the level of public confidence in the special service is at a consistently high level, and citizens see it as defenders, the political scientist emphasizes.

Recall that earlier President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Vasily Malyuk, during the leadership of the SBU, proved that “the Security Service can be what the people of Ukraine want it to be.”
