UN Secretary General went to self-isolation after contact with infected COVID-19

UN Secretary General António Guterres went into self-isolation after contact with an infected coronavirus and canceled all upcoming face-to-face meetings. Reported by France 24.

According to the TV channel, contact with the infected occurred on Tuesday. As noted by TASS, the UN Secretary General has no symptoms of the disease, the results of the first test were negative. However, Guterres will be working from home as a precaution, pending a retest on December 9th.

Earlier, Guterres called the restrictions on entry due to the omicron strain imposed by a number of countries as unfair and ineffective. At the same time, he called for strengthening control over the spread of the omicron strain in order not to allow the world to “close” and again interrupt economic interaction.
