The United States must not interfere with the work of accredited diplomatic staff. The deputy official representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Farhan Khak called for this, RIA Novosti reports.

Hack responded to a call by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova for the UN to initiate an arbitration procedure against the United States due to delays in the issuance of visas to diplomats and seized Russian diplomatic property. “We made it clear that the host country should allow accredited diplomats to do their job,” he stressed.

Earlier it became known that during the negotiations held on December 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin in a harsh manner demanded that his American counterpart Joe Biden return Moscow's diplomatic property to the United States.

We are talking, in particular, about residential complexes in the United States, which are in Russian ownership. Washington closed access to them as part of the December 2016 sanctions package. Then the administration of former American President Barack Obama adopted anti-Russian sanctions due to the fact that Moscow allegedly interfered in the elections and tried to put pressure on American diplomats. Russia denied these charges.
