UNESCO will not hold the 45th session in Kazan/UNESCO

The 45th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee will not take place in Russia. It was intended to be held in Kazan.

However, the UNESCO Committee satisfied the demand of the Ukrainian side. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

According to him, this is another victory of the cultural front.

The 45th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Kazan will not take place, – Tkachenko noted.

He thanked the Ukrainian representation in UNESCO and colleagues ministers who helped our state in this step.

Let us remind you that 46 member countries of the organization refused to participate in the 45th session, while its headed by Russia.

At the end of March, Tkachenko called for the session to be moved from Kazan to Lvov.
