Untrue – Danilov criticized WP article about “counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is questionable”
Ukraine is preparing to conduct a counteroffensive and liberate its territories. At the same time, journalists from The Washington Post said that this process is “in doubt.” To which the National Security and Defense Council reacted with lightning speed.
During the telethon, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov undertook to refute the information provided by The Washington Post journalists, Channel 24 reports. Note that the publication doubted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be able to launch a counteroffensive.
Article is not true
The material of the journalists says that the Ukrainian army has lost qualified fighters. Doubts crept into the publication that Kyiv would be able to organize an effective counteroffensive. Danilov emphasized that it is not worth reprinting this material. After all, the information in it, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted, “does not correspond to reality from the word at all.”
We read these newspapers very carefully before February 24, when they unanimously told us that there would be trouble, that we would not be able to hold the defense. They wrote us down in advance in the camp of the losers,” Danilov noted.
He stressed that the facts given in the article do not correspond to reality. Despite this, Danilov noticed that the situation at the front was difficult. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted that Ukraine has been fighting “against a country large in size, but not according to reason” for a year already.
We knew it would be difficult for us. We thank the partners for their support, but now to undermine the situation by providing information that does not correspond to reality is not a very pleasant thing, Danilov emphasized.
The material is replicated by Russian media
He drew attention to the fact that journalists use certain data provided by “some sources” in the material. Surnames, of course, no one indicated. This, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is more like a game, the purpose of which is to impose on Ukraine favorable scenarios for Russia. We are talking about a “peace settlement” that provides for the division of our state according to the so-called Korean scenario.
Another argument against this publication in the publication is the activity on the part of the Russian media. They willingly picked up the material and reprinted it at home.
Let us recall Danilov's preliminary statement. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted that Russia will need decades to restore its military potential. It is not surprising, because the enemy suffered enormous losses in the war against Ukraine.
As of the morning of March 14, the Russian invaders were missing 160,540 of their soldiers. Thousands of pieces of equipment have been turned into scrap metal. In particular, more than 300 aircraft and almost 300 helicopters.
