USA accuse four Russians of cyberattacks in the energy sector

The US Department of Justice accused four Russian government officials of cyberattacks on the global energy sector between 2012 and 2018.

They are accused of attacking hundreds of companies and organizations in about 135 countries.

Their activities are reported to have led to two separate emergency shutdowns at the same facility in Saudi Arabia. Subsequently, the alleged conspirators attempted to hack into the computers of a company that operated similar critical infrastructure facilities in the United States.

Some of the individuals in the US indictment are linked to the Russian FSB.

Recall that it was previously known that the group hackers Anonymous reported that they managed to break the data of the Central Bank of Russia.
