White House press Secretary Jen Psaki said that Britain and other US allies are ready to send troops to the east of NATO. Her words are transmitted by RIA Novosti.

Psaki noted that France, Spain, Denmark and the Netherlands intend to help strengthen NATO’s eastern flank and provide additional forces for this.

Previously, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO supports the increase of the US military contingent in Europe and the transfer of an aircraft carrier strike group (AUG) in the Mediterranean Sea. The alliance will also consider the deployment of additional troops in the south-east of the defensive block. “I welcome the US decision to deploy additional forces in Germany, Poland and Romania, strengthening NATO’s deterrence and defense capabilities,” he said.

The Wall Street Journal reported that US President Joe Biden approved the transfer of about 2,000 US troops to Europe. In addition, about a thousand more soldiers of the US army, who are currently stationed in Germany, will be relocated to Romania.
