In 2020, the United States sold weapons to Ukraine for a record amount for the latter – $ 510.5 million, TASS reports, citing a report from the United States Defense Cooperation and Security Agency.
For comparison, in 2019 this figure was $ 272.4 million, in 2018 – 250.7 million, in 2017 – 207.7 million and in 2016 – 226.5 million. In the period from 1950 to 2015 inclusive, the United States supplied Ukraine with weapons for a total of $ 179.2 million.
In November, Konstantin Makienko, Deputy Director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST), commenting on the results of the latest conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, in which, in his opinion, Russia was the loser, said that currently the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have weapons systems , which Russia does not have, in particular third-generation anti-tank missile systems and kamikaze drones.
In July, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of the country, Aleksey Danilov, said that from 2015 until the current year, Washington provided military assistance to Kiev totaling two billion dollars.
