Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down Su-24 over Bakhmut
The interlocutor on the air of our channel officially confirmed the shooting down of an enemy Su-24 bomber. According to him, the soldier of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade Kholodny Yar shot down the enemy “bird” from the Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system.
I want to say that our soldiers – both anti-aircraft gunners, and fighter aircraft and other types of air defense of the Ground Forces – they all lie in wait. And the enemy can never be sure that at any moment he cannot be destroyed, – Sergey Cherevaty said.

In total, 31 clashes took place in this direction. In Bakhmut itself – 65 artillery attacks and 10 clashes. In these battles, Russia lost 270 of its soldiers killed, and another 291 were injured. Another occupier was taken prisoner.
How the Russians are losing aircraft
The downing of a Russian plane is far from a new event. Since February 24, this happens almost every day. In general, for more than a year, the Russians lost 594 units of aircraft, of which:
- 305 units – aircraft,
- 289 units are helicopters.
The Su-24 shot down over Bakhmut today is a Soviet supersonic front-line bomber. It was adopted back in 1975. During this time, more than 1200 units of this type have been manufactured.
The Su-24 is designed to deliver missile and bomb strikes in normal and adverse weather conditions, day and night, in particular, at low altitudes with targeted destruction of ground and surface targets. It can be a carrier of tactical nuclear charges.
The Su-24M is also the main bomber aircraft of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
