Russian invaders have stepped up in the Zaporozhye direction in the area of ​​Gulyaipol and Orekhovy. There is an increase in shelling and the transfer of additional enemy troops.

The fact is that the invaders see that Ukrainian troops are pulling up reinforcements in those places where active hostilities are taking place in the East. Alexander Musienko, head of the Center for Military Legal Research, told Channel 24 about this.

The enemy is trying to stretch the front line

Consequently, when all enemy attacks are repulsed and the occupiers begin to deplete Ukrainian forces, there may be room for maneuver to improve their tactical position pointwise. This is what the Russian occupiers are afraid of.

This is not even about a big counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but simply the improvement and removal of the front line, as well as the destruction of individual enemy positions. For example, unclenching “pincers” around Bakhmut or Avdiivka, Donetsk region.

In order to stretch our line of defense, the Russian command planned to revive and increase the intensity of battles and attacks in other directions, in particular in Zaporozhye, – the military expert explained.

Invaders prepare for defense

Reinforcements of the Russian invaders, which arrive in the Zaporozhye direction, perform combined tasks. Some come closer to the front line, while the rest have a different task.

Such growth of Russian troops may indicate that they are preparing to go over to the attack. The attack has no global purpose other than stretching our line of defense. However,a certain part of their troops is involved in the tasks of organizing defense, the military expert noted.

According to him, this part of the occupying army builds fortifications, digs trenches and has dugouts. That is, it performs combined tasks.

On the one handthis indicates that the intensity of the fighting may increase and the Russians will dare to take offensive actions in certain areas. On the other hand, it can be stated that this is the calculation of the enemy to prepare defensive positions in the occupied territories due to the fear of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine .

The situation in other directions: briefly

• The occupiers continue to concentrate their main efforts on offensive operations in Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions. During the day on March 31, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 70 enemy attacks in the indicated directions.
• The General Staff reported that the most intense fighting is now continuing in the settlements of Belogorivka, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka.
• In the Volyn, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. Belarus continues to support Russian aggression. The Belarusian training grounds are used to train units of the territorial troops of the Russian armed forces.
