The President said this Volodymyr Zelensky during the awarding ceremony for the Ukrainian military at the Mariinsky Palace on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
The head of state noted that the Ukrainians “passed many trials and stood against evil.” According to him, today Ukrainians can say with confidence that “we will preserve the independence of Ukraine forever.”
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine will maintain its independence thanks to soldiers and citizens, unity and the fact that “we all have understanding what and for whom we are fighting.”
We don't want to take someone else's. We will not conquer others. We are fighting so that Ukrainian children on Ukrainian soil are free, have the right to happiness and the opportunity to realize this right,” the president said.
Zelensky stressed that victory becomes inevitable “when everyone who fights for their Motherland, there is such a bright goal.”

Ukraine celebrates Independence Day
- On August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 31st anniversary of Independence Day. On this occasion, President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Ukrainians.
