When everything went according to plan, but not quite: air defense training was conducted in the Moscow region

The epic with the establishment of air defense continues in Moscow. The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country has already reported on the conduct of appropriate exercises near the Russian capital.

The Russian Ministry of Defense says about the training of air defense forces. Moscow says that they have involved more than 30 pieces of equipment and 150 people in the exercises.

What Moscow says there

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the conduct of exercises of the air defense forces in the Moscow region. In Moscow, they say that during the exercises, the crews of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems learned to repel air attacks on important military, industrial and administrative facilities.

Recall that recently in Moscow they began to install air defense systems on the roofs of administrative buildings and around capital Cities. In particular, Pantsir-S1 systems have already been noticed on the roofs of three administrative buildings:

  • Ministry of Defense on Frunzenskaya Embankment;
  • in Teterinsky lane;
  • MIA on Petrovka, 38

All these systems cover the Kremlin.

As evidenced by the air defense epic in Moscow

Ukrainians were rather amused by Russia's installation of air defense systems in Moscow, given the self-confidence of the aggressor country in the beginning of a full-scale invasion and its plans to capture Kyiv in 3 days. Smoothly, this plan turned into the establishment of air defense in Moscow for the 11th month of a full-scale war. However, it is worth noting that this is not evidence of the defeat of the invaders, the war continues and we must continue to support the Ukrainian army. Despite ridiculing the enemy, we must understand thatto win we still need to put in a lot of effort.

Experts have analyzed the situation in Moscow. According to Bloomberg sources, the occupiers began to install air defense systems in Moscow because of the fear of Ukrainian drones, given that the “cotton” that the Kremlin specifically accuses Ukraine of has already gone to Ryazan, which is 200 kilometers from the capital of the enemy. It is also important here that, according to experts, the Pantsir S-1 systems are just more suitable for countering drones.

However, the American Institute for the Study of War claims that Russia is trying to create information conditions in order to prepare the Russians for a “protracted war” in Ukraine. According to ISW, air defense systems on the roofs of houses and administrative buildings may be another attempt to highlight Ukraine as a threat to Russia and become part of the aforementioned training.
