WHO spokesman warned of the risk of contracting the Delta Plus strain from a passer-by without a mask

You can get sick with the Delta Plus strain of coronavirus by walking past an infected person without a mask, said Melita Vujnovich, WHO representative in Russia.

“It is enough to walk next to a person without a mask to get sick,” Vujnovich TASS said.

According to a WHO representative, the Delta Plus strain has already been identified in Russia. She noted that this variant is highly infectious and quickly displaces other strains. As Vujnovich said, if earlier it took almost half an hour of close contact for the disease, now this period has been significantly reduced.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that no cases of infection with the new Delta Plus strain of coronavirus infection have yet been registered in Russia.

The Research Center “Vector” also reported that there is currently no “Delta Plus” in Russia.
