The war in Ukraine can have many scenarios, and does not rule out general mobilization. During it, women can also be drafted into the army.

In order to refute the fakes on the mobilization of women, which are increasingly distributed on the network, the Channel 24 website talked to lawyers. In particular, one of the topics was the possibility of going abroad after women are registered.

As noted by Ihor Yasko, women liable for military service are restricted from leaving Ukraine. Therefore, only those categories of women who are not subject to conscription during mobilization (Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On mobilization training and mobilization”) can leave.

Kateryna Anischenko added that “benefits” or ” there are no exceptions” in the legislation on this issue for women.

In the event of an extension of martial law, the ban on crossing the border of persons liable for military service will also remain. However, this ban applies equally to both women and men, and it is already in force in Ukraine,” she explained.

Which categories of women liable for military service will be able to leave

Together with this legislation, that persons liable for military service may travel abroad under certain circumstances. For example, these are:

• women with three or more children under the age of 18;
• single mothers raising a minor child on their own;
• parents, guardians, adoptive parents with a child with a disability or an adopted child under the age of 18;
• women who support an adult child who is a person with a disability of I or II groups, etc.

This list also includes applicants for vocational, vocational higher and higher education, studying in a full-time or dual form of education, scientific and scientific and pedagogical workers of institutions of higher and vocational higher education, scientific institutions and organizations, institutions of vocational or general secondary education.

Let's remind! The new procedure for taking women on military registration starts on October 1, 2022. The campaign provides that a woman becomes liable for military service, and also falls into the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard or other military formations. However, it only talks about representatives of the professions provided for by Order No. 313 of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine dated October 11, 2021.

Channel 24 also spoke with Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar. She emphasized that there will be no exit ban for women.

There are certain restrictions for men liable for military service. For some reason, information is dispersed that this concerns women or concerns women. So far, there are no such restrictions and there is no question of creating them, – Maliar noted.
