Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow: an expert explained how China will save Russia

Questions of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, according to the UN Charter, China will be considered last.

China does not want Russia to lose, so it will try to freeze the war with calls for a ceasefire and peace talks.

This opinion was expressed in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua by military expert Oleg Zhdanov.

“They will start with a ceasefire. And then you don’t even have to move forward. This will fully meet Russian requirements, because Putin needs a break. He wants to stake out the territories that he has now captured, and China will first of all insist on a ceasefire and the start of negotiations” , says the expert.

According to him, the issues of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in accordance with the UN Charter, China will be considered last.

“China will simply put pressure on the need to prevent human deaths. Thus, it will save Russia,” Zhdanov explained.

In his opinion, Xi Jinping will not offer anything specific to resolve the conflict, just calling for peace.

“This position of China is confirmed by the fact that Xi Jinping goes to Moscow first, especially since he goes personally. But he does not want to come to Kyiv personally. No miracles about the change in China's position should be expected. He will, most likely, defend his own position, try to increase his political weight in the process of negotiations with the United States, ”Zhdanov stressed.

According to him, Chinese support will create problems for the US and for the collective West.

“China will use this for its own benefit. As soon as China comes to an agreement with the United States, then it will not be interested in the fate of the Russian Federation at all,” the expert noted.

At the same time, Oleg Zhdanov believes that after Xi Jinping's visit, the Kremlin should not rely on open military assistance from China.

“I think that Russia would not refuse the Chinese variants of the same T-72 tanks, which are in very large numbers. China does not act directly. If you start to understand, it turns out that these deliveries were carried out by Chinese companies, and not by the state. By the way, the United States is trying to stop these supplies and impose sanctions against these companies, and not against China in general. Therefore, China is again pursuing its indirect policy, promoting its own interests. I think that China will not dare to openly and directly provide weapons to the Russian Federation, ”he stressed.

Recall, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba believes that the Chinese authorities still doubt whether to provide Russia with armed assistance in its military aggression against Ukraine, the final decision has not yet been made.
