Xiaomi smartphone criticized for fragility

An Indian blogger criticized the new Xiaomi smartphone following an extreme test. A video with an overview of the device was published on the enthusiast's YouTube channel.

The author received at his disposal a new smartphone Xiaomi Redmi Note 10, aimed at a wide audience. The blogger said that the device has compromise characteristics and is almost entirely made of plastic, which makes the device cheaper to manufacture. According to the enthusiast, this approach allows keeping the cost of the device low, but the quality may suffer.

Further testing confirmed the author's fears. He managed to easily scrape off the paint from the case and leave scratches on the screen after contacting the smartphone with a knife and other metal objects. At the same time, the fragile Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 withstood a drop from a small height. The reviewer explained this by the fact that the phone, which is mostly made of plastic, is quite lightweight, so it does not receive significant damage when dropped.

The device failed the final stage of the test – the Indian blogger managed to break the device in half. The author noted that the gadget does not have a sufficiently strong frame that would take on physical impact.

The Redmi Note 10 series smartphones were unveiled in India on March 4th. The base device of the line received a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 678 chip, a camera with 48, 8, 2 and 2 megapixel lenses, a 5000 milliampere-hour battery. The cost of the device was $ 165, or about 12 thousand rubles.
