Zakharova criticized the EU's opinion on media freedom in Ukraine

Maria Zakharova

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the assessment of the state of freedom of the media in Ukraine in the report of the European Commission on the implementation of the agreement between the EU and this country. She expressed her opinion on this on her Facebook.

Zakharov was amused by the wording of the journalists describing the content of the report: next to a fairly high assessment of freedom of the media in the Ukrainian state, there were mentioned attacks on journalists, some of which ended in murders.

“So you can speak freely until you are killed? Are these new European standards? ” – the diplomat mocked.

In October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he decided to tell the news on his own, since, in his opinion, there is “a lot of negativity” in the Ukrainian media owned by the oligarchs.
